2 Years of AMG Karnavati Chapter: When a Celebration Becomes a Classroom

2 Years. 5 Distinguished Speakers. 10 Days of Preparation. 55+ MFDs in the Audience.

But for me, the real story of this celebration cannot be captured only through these numbers.

The real story is about people coming together to learn, share, connect and grow.

In October 2024, when the ArthMitra Gurukulam Karnavati Chapter began its journey, the thought was simple: create a platform where fellow MFDs could meet regularly, openly exchange experiences and learn from one another.

Today, after completing two years, I can proudly say that the chapter has evolved into exactly that kind of community.

For 24 months, members have continued to meet, interact and contribute to each other's professional journey.

And when the time came to celebrate our second anniversary, the team decided that this milestone should not be celebrated with just cake, photographs and speeches.

It should be celebrated in true AMG style:

By Learning Together.

A Celebration With a Difference

The idea was conceived barely 10 days before the event.

The plan was ambitious.

Instead of having one keynote speaker, the team decided to invite five distinguished speakers from five different areas of experience and expertise.

What made the occasion even more meaningful was that four of the five speakers are themselves active MFDs.

This is something I deeply value about our profession.

There are experienced people who have spent years building their businesses, facing challenges, making mistakes, learning from them—and still remain willing to share those experiences with fellow professionals.

Knowledge becomes far more valuable when it is shared.

And that is precisely what happened during the AMG Karnavati Chapter Business Growth Seminar.

Five Speakers. Five Perspectives.

Dr. Rahul Patel — Understanding the HNI & Corporate Opportunity

The afternoon began with Dr. Rahul Patel, Founder of Aalps Wealth.

His session focused on practical insights around attracting and engaging HNIs and corporate clients in an MFD business.

For many professionals, moving into larger client segments may appear complicated from a distance. Sessions like these help participants understand the approach, communication and processes experienced practitioners have developed over the years.

It was practical, relevant and rooted in real-world experience.

Deepesh Arora — The Power of Cross-Selling & Upselling

Next came Deepesh Arora, Director at Silverline WM Pvt Ltd.

He spoke about his experiences with cross-selling and upselling and how an MFD can better understand opportunities within an existing client relationship.

His session reminded us of an important business truth:

Growth does not always mean constantly searching for something new.

Sometimes we need to understand our existing relationships better, improve communication and identify where additional products or services may genuinely be relevant.

Nandish Desai — Lessons From the Himalayas

Then came a session that was completely different.

Nandish Desai, Partner at Jagoinvestor, shared his recent spiritual experience in the Himalayas and, more importantly, what that journey taught him about life and business.

It was not a typical business presentation.

There were no conventional formulas or growth charts.

Instead, the session invited everyone to reflect.

Because ultimately, behind every business is a human being.

Our mindset, discipline, priorities, relationships and inner clarity influence the way we build our professional lives.

It was truly a one-of-a-kind session.

Mehul Ravani — Marketing & Large-Scale IAPs

The fourth MFD speaker of the evening was Mehul Ravani, Founder of Arihant Investments.

His presentation brought the discussion towards marketing and large-scale Investor Awareness Programs (IAPs).

He shared several practical insights developed through experience.

Investor awareness remains an important part of our industry's growth journey, and hearing directly from someone who has worked extensively in this area gave participants several ideas to think about and implement in their own practices.

Pravinchandra Sumesara — Building the MFD Brand

The final session was delivered by our well-wisher, guide and mentor Pravinchandra Sumesara from Franklin Templeton Ahmedabad.

His subject was particularly relevant:

Brand Management for an MFD Business

An MFD may spend years developing knowledge, serving clients and building relationships, but communicating that identity consistently is another skill altogether.

His thoughts on brand management brought the day's sessions together beautifully.

Because business growth is not created through one activity alone.

It is the result of several things working together—knowledge, relationships, communication, service, visibility, discipline and continuous improvement.

55+ MFDs. One Learning Community.

More than 55 MFDs participated in the celebration.

And perhaps the biggest compliment to all five speakers was the attention and involvement of the audience throughout the sessions.

There were ideas to discuss.

Experiences to exchange.

Questions to ask.

New perspectives to absorb.

And plenty of conversations continued even after the formal sessions ended.

When we started ArthMitra Gurukulam, this was exactly the environment we wanted to create.

Not a platform where knowledge flows only from the stage to the audience.

But a community where:

Everyone can learn.
Everyone can share.
Everyone can contribute.

AMG Is Built by Its People

No community initiative succeeds because of one individual.

It succeeds because people voluntarily contribute their time, energy, ideas and experience.

I am thankful to every member of the AMG Karnavati Chapter and AMG Capital Chapter who participated and helped make this celebration memorable.

A special appreciation to Vikram Gopaldas Chag, Coordinator of AMG Capital Chapter, and Valay Buch, whose support helped transform the idea into reality within such a short preparation period.

And, of course, my gratitude to all five speakers who willingly gave their time to share what they have learned through years of experience.

This willingness to share is what makes a professional community stronger.

Two Years Completed. The Journey Has Just Begun.

Someone jokingly said after the event that the learning from these sessions was enough for the next two years.

Perhaps.

But knowing AMG, I don't think we will wait that long for the next learning opportunity. 😊

Because one belief has remained constant throughout the ArthMitra Gurukulam journey:

Learning Never Stops.

The Karnavati Chapter's second anniversary was therefore much more than a celebration.

It was another reminder of what becomes possible when professionals stop thinking only in terms of “Me” and begin believing in “We.”

People meet.

Ideas are exchanged.

Experiences are shared.

Relationships become stronger.

And slowly…

Log judte gaye, karvan banta gaya.

Here's to many more years of learning, sharing and growing together.

Learn. Share. Grow. And Enjoy Together.
